Icean views of La Jolla, San Diego and Southern California sun was the main things to consider for Sebastian Mariscal Architecture studio while designing this two identical adjacent houses. The structure of each house is very balanced thanks to used materials and their arrangement. Concrete sub-level forms the base while the main level is enclosed by full height glass panels which create continuous outdoor space connected to ocean views and holds public spaces like kitchen and dining room.
A suspended Ipe wood clad top level holds bedrooms and performs as the canopy. The landscape around the house helps to maintain house’s privacy while giving enough space for big exterior living space with great views.
